Web Site Design

Basic web site design is actually pretty simple. But it can get real complicated, real fast and in order for your website to be truly successful on the web, you absolutely have to know what you are doing.

For years I struggled with getting my very first site found online. I spent a lot of money, wasted a lot time and got no results. You couldn't even find my website anywhere online. But I got an education. And a very worthwhile one for both me and my web clients.

As the saying goes, you can have the best website in the world, but if no one sees it, then what good is it.

So that began the process of understanding what the search engines are looking for, how they are looking for it and how to create a web page that actually is human and search engine friendly.

There are tons of elements to consider in the design of site. But ultimately, it comes down to 2 very important concepts. TRAFFIC and CONVERSION.

Depending on your company's goals, it will come down to getting traffic to your web site (easier said than done) and then creating a conversion of the visitor, by either signing up for your newsletter, buying a product, calling you about a question, or whatever. Beyond traffic, conversion deals with generating leads and / or sales.

Now, as far as web design goes, the navigation is critically important, the use of CSS these days is very helpful, and the overall flow of the site is vital to a healthy, functional website.

At SmartBreeze, we specialize in designing websites that are search engine friendly. We don't get caught up in using a lot of flashy stuff. While appropriate some of the time, they can actually do more harm then good by not allowing people to find your site.

So successful web site design has to integrate form and function. It has to meet the needs of the business, the needs of the clients, and has to be functional to the search engines.
