Why Are Everyone Ranting And Raving And Creating A Drama About Skype

I was reading a Time magazine excerpt Just last week I was scanning through a piece in Home Business magazine and found about this thing I had never heard of before called skype phones.The two guys who began it sold their website to ebay and are now very wealthy because of it.So why am I getting so pumped up?.A lot of people call it voip.It is hardly a novel concept telephoning a friend over the www without having to pay for it.

So all you have is rig up a phone to your pc and you can see and talk to anyone anywhere in the world using skipe.There is a drawback, however, and that is that it is most easily used over a broadband connection.Fantastic pictures are not guaranteed however if your connection is slow.

One of the worlds biggest sites Ebay has already jumped on the bandwagon and is flogging phones specifically for skyp.Skype is going to be massive from the number of downloads we have seen since 2004.

Some of the commercial phone companies are already offering voip phone service..I guess the question remains is it commercially viable.Will it take on the web by storm, or is it just a passing fad

If past experience is anything to go by then we can expect the big players to examine voip in minute detail.Then of course the feds will enter and regulate it.Skype are charging to make phone calls to cell phones and local regular phones, and that's called skyping out,etc

The next big thing which voip are making a bold move towards is the idea of web conferencing. Web video conferencing was a huge idea about 10 years ago but then fell off the radar but now it is making a return

We are also seeing an enormous amount of people using audio and video on the web now that download speeds are that much faster.Some people claim that audio and video will be no big deal but I disagree, I think it will be massive.

But one thing is for sure, it's not just hype they're muttering about, and only time will tell if the general public will catch on when they get their free skype download.The question remains will voip take over from the phone.
